Sustainable Development Through Digital Transformation and Impact Sourcing

Kisumu, Kenya— Global CEO Alliance (GCEOA) Chairman and ADEC Innovations CEO James M. Donovan recently participated at the Africities Summit, with the theme “The Role of Intermediary Cities of Africa in the Implementation of the Agenda 2030 of the United Nations and the African Union Agenda 2063” from May 17-21.

Mr. Donovan explained that digital transformation remains crucial to bridging the disconnect between developing African cities and those in the already-developed ones, specifically in Europe and in the US.

“Digital transformation in secondary cities is a key component in advancing sustainable development to link the abundant Africa resources to the demand in the west,” he explained, emphasizing on the need of wider cooperation from all sectors from the private organizations, public sector, academia and civil society to upskill the available talent in the continent.

Global CEO Alliance, is a not for profit NGO that focuses on Digital Transformation in delivering one of its core programme on Impact Sourcing.

Impact Sourcing is an economic activity in which organization gives preference to suppliers/ service providers who purposely and intentionally hire employees who have limited prospects for employment--reengineering business process delivery model to utlize the untapped pool of qualified and trained talent with skill sets aligned to match the company needs. It also provides a way to take digital work that is being offshored and direct it towards workers and areas that would not typically access it and where employment will generate greater impact on communities where Impact Sourcing organization operates.
